Common Area Attendant - Shoal Creek Campground (Full Time)
SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring the campground is effectively maintained. Remove trash and debris from grounds, prepare campsites for camper check-in, clean and inspect campsites after campers depart, confirm facilities (power, water, cable, WiFi) are operational, support office staff, and assist guests as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Preparing campsites for check-in by removing trash/debris including the use of a power blower
- Cleaning fire pits and grills
- Testing campsite facilities such as water, power, cable, and WiFi
- Reporting and following up on issues with appropriate organizations
- Inspecting campsites after camper departs to ensure no trash or any other noticeable issues
- Removing trash from campsites, bath houses, and other campground locations
- Landscaping such as blowing off debris from campsites and roads, sweeping common areas, removing weeds, repairing signs, moving picnic tables. Use of hand tools, power blower, rakes, brooms, and shovels as needed
- Performing routine maintenance/repairs as appropriate
- Loading and unloading supplies, firewood, and ice
- Fill propane tanks
- Supporting office staff
- Assisting guests
- Monitoring and patrolling campground
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Willing to be outside in a range of different weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation
- Successful completion of background check
- Ability to work as a self-starter
- Ability to communicate with fellow employees, guests, and outside vendors
- Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the last 3 years.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle, feel or reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather such as heated summers to cold winter conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
